Regular Season Round 11: UBC Muiscas - Llaneros 66-71

Bottom-ranked UBC Muiscas (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 71-66 loss to second ranked Llaneros (10-2) in on Saturday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 5 points. Llaneros outrebounded UBC Muiscas 48-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Luis Hernandez who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) helped adding 18 points. American forward Anthony Stewart (205-88, college: High School) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and forward Andres Mosquera (196-94) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Llaneros. They maintain second place with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader Bucaros. UBC Muiscas lost their twelfth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Llaneros will meet at home Patriotas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. UBC Muiscas will play against Piratas (#5) in Bogota and hope to get finally their first victory.
