Regular Season Round 13: Patriotas T. - Halcones 78-109

10th ranked Patriotas T. (1-13) was outscored at home by eighth ranked Halcones (5-7) with the biggest margin this round 109-78. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones. Patriotas T. was better in fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halcones dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Patriotas T.'s 50. Worth to mention a great performance of Venezuelan power forward Jesus Martinez (204-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Point guard Jorge Leon (188-79) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Halcones players scored in double figures. American guard De'Sean Mattox (185, college: E.Oregon) answered with 15 points and Venezuelan forward Luis Almanza (196-91) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Patriotas T.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Halcones maintains eighth place with 5-7 record. Patriotas T. lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Halcones will have a break next round. Patriotas T. will play against UBC Muiscas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
