The game with biggest result difference took place in Boyaca. Local Patriotas (9-6) outscored 5th ranked Piratas (8-5) 117-96 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Piratas. The game was mostly controlled by Patriotas. Piratas managed to win second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Patriotas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Jereal Scott (203-89, college: SF Austin) chipped in 30 points (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) during the contest. Sneed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Patriotas players scored in double figures. Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) responded with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) scored 27 points. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Astros. Loser Piratas keep the fifth position with five games lost. Patriotas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Piratas will play against Halcones (#8) in Cucuta and hope to secure a win.
