Regular Season Round 17: Bucaros - Llaneros 97-78

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bucaramanga. Leader Bucaros faced second-ranked Llaneros. Host Bucaros (17-0) smashed guests from Villavicencio (13-4) 97-78. Strangely Llaneros outrebounded Bucaros 39-24 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Llaneros' players. The best player for the winners was American forward Jordan Demercy (201-88, college: Georgetown, KY, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Luis Hernandez produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Juan Herrera (197-81) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bucaros have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Bucaros maintains first place with 17-0 record. Llaneros at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. Bucaros are looking forward to face Patriotas (#3) in Boyaca in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Llaneros will have a break next round.
