Regular Season Round 10: Paulistano - Jacarei 87-68
Date: September 5, 2015
Bottom-ranked Jacarei is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to second ranked Paulistano (6-2) 87-68 on Saturday evening. Paulistano dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Jacarei's 20. They outrebounded Jacarei 36-25 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international Jhonatan Luz dos Santos (196-87) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. Marciel Santos (-91) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard Paulo Nery (188-81) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Jacarei. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Paulistano maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Rio Claro, which they share with Mogi das Cruzes. Loser Jacarei still closes the standings with eight games lost. Paulistano's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paolo to the arena Pinheiros.
