Regular Season Round 18: UBC Muiscas - Manizales 92-95

Ninth-ranked UBC Muiscas (1-16) used its home court advantage to challenge seventh ranked Once Caldas (9-10) in Cundinamarca. The visitors from Manizales managed to secure only three-point victory 95-92. However their fans expected easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But UBC Muiscas won third quarter 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Once Caldas won last quarter 28-27. American-Dominican guard Alvin Abreu (187-87, college: New Hampshire) scored 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Deion Turman (203, college: Wingate) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Anthony Stewart (205-88, college: High School) with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Vincentian guard Chris Telesford (193-88, college: Columbus St.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Once Caldas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted UBC Muiscas keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Patriotas T.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
