Leader Bucaros delivered the nineteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Halcones (6-14) 130-51 in Cucuta. The game without a history. Bucaros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Halcones to just 7 points in third quarter. Bucaros dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Halcones' 28. Bucaros forced 22 Halcones turnovers and outrebounded them 44-23 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 41 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Halcones' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St.) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and American-Dominican swingman Wilson Pilarte (193, college: Bloomfield) who added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Bucaros players scored in double figures. Barnner Guerra Leal responded with 26 points and Venezuelan power forward Jesus Martinez (204-86) scored 4 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
