Regular Season Round 1: Quilmes MP - Penarol 61-77

There was no surprise in Mar del Plata where Quilmes MP (0-2) was defeated by Penarol (1-0) 77-61 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-61. Penarol forced 22 Quilmes MP turnovers. International forward Franco Giorgetti (201-92) fired 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Alejandro Diez (201-87) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Lucas Vildoza (190-95) produced 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and international power forward Tayavek Gallizzi (205-93) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Penarol will face Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
