Regular Season Round 1: Sallen - Akropol 84-55

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Akropol (0-1) in Uppsala on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Sallen (1-0) 84-55. The game without a history. Sallen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Akropol only scored ten points from the stripe. Sallen forced 19 Akropol turnovers and outrebounded them 111-95 including 40 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sallen made 116 blocks. 41 personal fouls committed by Akropol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Katarina Andersson (191-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Adriana Camber (174-97) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Sallen players scored in double figures. At the losing side Vici Fagan Buckau (180-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Serbian guard Jovana Ciric (173-83) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Akropol's coach Jonny Ishak gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sallen is looking forward to face Udominate in Umea in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Akropol will play at home against Norrkoping Dolphins and is hoping to win this game.
