Regular Season Round 1: Villeneuve - Lyon 84-55

Villeneuve D'Ascq used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Lyon 84-55 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Villeneuve D'Ascq. Lyon was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import center Latoya Williams (192-87, college: Chipola JC) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Villeneuve D'Ascq will face Angers (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lyon will play against Bourges and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
