Regular Season Round 3: Samorin - Piestanske C. 52-91

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Samorin (2-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Piestanske C. (1-0) 91-52. The game was mostly controlled by Piestanske C.. Samorin managed to win third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Piestanske C. dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Samorin's 34. It was a great evening for American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Lucia Krc-Turbova (186-89) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Parker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Piestanske C. players scored in double figures. Piestanske C.'s coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Romana Vynuchalova (192-86, college: Penn St., agency: Regeneracom Sports) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and forward Zuzana Mracnova (180-80) scored 17 points. Piestanske C. are looking forward to face MBK Ruzomberok at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samorin will play against Good Angels in Kosice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
