Regular Season Round 2: Angers - Villeneuve 69-77

Date: October 1, 2015
Not a big story in a game when Angers (0-2) lost at home to Villeneuve D'Ascq (2-0) 77-69 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-69. Villeneuve D'Ascq made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Greek forward Styliani Kaltsidou (188-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas) notched 12 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international power forward Marielle Amant (190-89, agency: Comsport) supported her with 12 points. Even 11 points and 7 rebounds by Canadian forward Lizanne Murphy (185-84, college: Hofstra) did not help to save the game for Angers. International point guard Romane Bernies (170-93, agency: Comsport) added 16 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Villeneuve D'Ascq will meet at home COB Calais in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Angers will play against Bourges and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
