Castello was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Caceres 87-85 on Friday night. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 23-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Caceres Basket made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Lithuanian center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Lithuanian forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-92) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Caceres Basket players scored in double figures. Caceres Basket's coach Antonio Bohigas used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Nigerian forward Zimmy Nwogbo (201-91, college: Cedarville, agency: Duran International) responded with 21 points and point guard Joan Faner (176-90) scored 10 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Caceres Basket will have a break next round. Castello will play on the road against Palencia Baloncesto and hope to win that game.
