Regular Season Round 1: Gniezno - WKK Wroclaw 73-85

Gniezno was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Wroclaw 85-73 on Saturday night. WKK Wroclaw made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. WKK Wroclaw outrebounded Gniezno 37-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Gniezno was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Michal Jodlowski (205-98) stepped up and scored 26 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!) for the winners and swingman Dominik Rutkowski (196-98) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side forward Dariusz Dobrzycki (193-84) responded with 23 points and forward Arkadiusz Konowalski (192-85) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Gniezno players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. WKK Wroclaw will face Miedzychod on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gniezno will play against Otmuchow and hope to win that game.
