Regular Season Round 1: MKS DG 2 - Pogon RS 78-104

MKS DG 2 was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Ruda Slaska 104-78 on Saturday night. Pogon RS dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 30. Pogon RS forced 22 MKS DG 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Pogon RS especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. MKS DG 2 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Adam Andula (201-87) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Adam Wilkin (194-83) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Pogon RS players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and center Adam Niespor (200-99) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Pogon RS will face Polonia Bytom at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. MKS DG 2 will play against Zaglebie and hope to win that game.
