Regular Season Round 2: Hiroshima L. - Okinawa GK 74-104

Hiroshima L. was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Okinawa 104-74 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Hiroshima L. was better in third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okinawa GK dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 42. They outrebounded Hiroshima L. 44-26 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Okinawa GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. American players dominated also this game. Power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Five Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) replied with 23 points and 6 rebounds and forward Adam Herman (199-91, college: Concordia, OR) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hiroshima L.Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
