Regular Season Round 2: Quimper - Challans 61-83

Date: October 3, 2015
No shocking result in a game when Vendee Challans (2-0) crushed on the road Quimper UJAP (0-2) 83-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vendee Challans. Quimper UJAP was better in fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimper UJAP was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (180-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Serbian Djordje Petrovic (202-84) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Lithuanian center Deividas Busma (212-87, college: Idaho St., agency: Two Points) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American point guard Omar Strong (175-90, college: Texas Southern) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Quimper UJAP's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Vendee Challans will face Lourdes-Tarbes at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quimper UJAP will play against SAP Vaucluse (#4) in Sorgues and hope to win that game.
