Regular Season Round 2: Berck - St Vallier 105-102 OT

Date: October 3, 2015
Saint Vallier (1-1) fell to Berck (1-1) in overtime by three points 102-105 on Saturday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Saint Vallier won second period 15-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Saint Vallier used huge pressure winning it 23-16 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 26-29. Berck had a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American-Jamaican forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Ivorian point guard Mickael Toti (180-87) supported him with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Even 21 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by American swingman Rasheed Wright (196-80, college: ODU) did not help to save the game for Saint Vallier. Jonathan Hoyaux (196-88) added 26 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Berck will meet Caen (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saint Vallier will play against Angers BC (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
