Regular Season Round 1: Zaglebie - AZS AGH Alstom 58-82

Zaglebie was not able to use a home court advantage and was outleveled by the opponent from Krakow 82-58 on Saturday night. AZS AGH Alstom outrebounded Zaglebie 45-27 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Zaglebie's players. Guard Tomasz Zych (185-87) stepped up and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and guard Jakub Krawczyk (191-91) chipped in 17 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five AZS AGH Alstom players scored in double figures. AZS AGH Alstom's coach Wojciech Bychawski felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Kamil Wojciak (193-85) scored 17 points. AZS AGH Alstom will face Cieszyn at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zaglebie will play against MKS DG 2 in Dabrowa Gornicza and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the 1Liga just one year after relegation.
