Regular Season Round 3: Houthalen - Kangoeroes 69-83

Very significant was Kangoeroes' (#8) 83-69 road victory against Houthalen. It looked good early as Houthalen took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kangoeroes had a 29-9 second period charge getting the lead and Houthalen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-83. Kangoeroes forced 25 Houthalen turnovers. Houthalen was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Heleen Adams (172-94) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Serena-Lynn Geldof (195-97) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. The former international forward Annelies Blommaers (176-83) came up with 22 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian power forward Irma Rahmanovic (187-91) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Houthalen in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kangoeroes will play against Belfius Namur (#8) on the road in the next round. Houthalen will play against Jeugd Gentson and hopes to get finally their first victory.
