Regular Season Round 2: Lourdes - Rueil 97-96

Important game to mention about took place in Tarbes. Lourdes-Tarbes (2-0) saved a 1-point victory at home edging Rueil (1-1) 97-96 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-22. But Rueil won second period 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international point guard Xane Dalmeida (181-83) scored 25 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) chipped in 22 points during the contest. Swingman Lamine Sambe (188-89) responded with 25 points and American forward Gregg Thondique (202-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Lourdes-Tarbes and five Rueil players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against Vendee Challans on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rueil will play against La Rochelle (#8) to get more than just one victory in their record.
