Regular Season Round 3: Akita NH - Saitama Bron. 91-70

Akita Happinets (2-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed Saitama Broncos (0-2) 91-70. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Saitama Broncos was better in second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Saitama Broncos 49-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Akita Happinets players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for American swingman Richard Roby (198-85, agency: CGL Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian center Scott Morrison (213-86, college: Portland St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Du'Vaughn Maxwell (201-91, college: Hampton) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita Happinets' next round opponent will be Gunma on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saitama Broncos will play against Iwate Big Bulls (#10) and hope to get finally their first victory.
