Regular Season Round 1: Brunell - Meteors 59-78

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Brunell (0-1) in Cork on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Meteors (1-0) 78-59. Meteors shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. American guard Meghan McGuinness (178, college: Niagara) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Emily Leer (188-92, college: Villanova) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Meteors players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Amy Waters responded with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Canadian forward Kaylee Kilpatrick (193-93, college: New Hampshire) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Brunell's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Meteors is looking forward to face TM Hotel Cork at home in the next round. Brunell will play against 11890 Killester and is hoping to win this game.
