Regular Season Round 1: Pelplin - AZS UMK Torun 61-79

Pelplin was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Torun 79-61 on Sunday night. AZS UMK Torun forced 22 Pelplin turnovers. Radoslaw Plebanek (190-85) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and guard Zbigniew Malinowski (188-84) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Wiktor Czyzewski (196-92) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. AZS UMK Torun will face Koscian at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pelplin will play against Domino Inowr. in Inowroclaw and hope to win that game.
