Very important is a road loss of Kyoto Hannar. (1-1) against Kanazawa Samuraiz (1-1) on Sunday night. Visiting Kyoto Hannar. was defeated by Kanazawa Samuraiz in a tough game in Ishikawa 68-73. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. Guard Tsukino Masato (178-88) chipped in 11 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Kouki Yamabuchi (183-84) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kanazawa Samuraiz will meet Shimane Magic on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Hamamatsu Phoenix and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
