Banco di Srd (1-0) survived in overtime against Vanoli Cremona (0-1) by seven points 97-90. Vanoli Cremona was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 28-23 charge of Banco di Srd, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-10. Banco di Srd made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Vanoli Cremona outrebounded Banco di Srd 41-29 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American-Polish guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) contributed with 24 points and 4 assists for the winners. American swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Priority Sports) answered with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import guard Elston Turner (195-90, college: Texas A&M) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Vanoli Cremona. Four Banco di Srd and five Vanoli Cremona players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Banco di Srd will play against AV Cantu on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vanoli Cremona will play against Dolomiti En. TR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
