Regular Season Round 2: Telge - Alvik Basket 59-53

Date: October 4, 2015
There was no surprise when Alvik Basket (0-2) was defeated on the road by Telge (2-0) 59-53 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 29-17 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Telge dominated on the defensive end, holding Alvik Basket to just 4 points in third quarter. They also forced 19 Alvik Basket turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Telge made 7 blocks. Forward Ellen Astrom (170-96) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Anita Ilic (169-94) chipped in 10 points during the contest. Swingman Nathalie Linden (177-95) responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Klara Lundquist (171-99) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Alvik Basket's coach Francisco Pinto rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Telge will meet Visby Ladies on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Alvik Basket's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Stockholm Fryshuset.
