Regular Season Round 2: Mann Filter - Azkoitia 92-62

Mann Filter used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Azpeitia 92-62 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Mann Filter. Azkoitia was better in fourth quarter 24-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mann Filter dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Azkoitia's 30. Mann Filter forced 20 Azkoitia turnovers and outrebounded them 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Mann Filter especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Italian-Paraguayan swingman Paola Ferrari (178-85, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Guard Gabriela Ocete (170-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Mann Filter players scored in double figures. Mann Filter's coach Victor Lapena felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. Venezuelan point guard Roselis Silva (166-91, college: Arkansas Tech, agency: Gamble Sports Management) replied with 22 points and 5 assists and Russian power forward Mariya Davydova (190-93, college: FIU) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Azkoitia. Mann Filter will face Gran Canaria in Las Palmas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Azkoitia will play at home against Perfumerias Avenida and hope to win that game.
