Regular Season Round 3: Toyama Grouses - Iwate Big Bulls 75-66

Everything went according to plan when Toyama Grouses (2-0) beat at home Iwate Big Bulls (0-2) 75-66 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 37-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Duke Crews (203-88, college: Bowie St.) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Fujie Tatsunori (184-87) scored 16 points. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Geoffrey Katsuhisa let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Toyama Grouses will face Fukushima (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Saitama Broncos and look forward to get finally their first victory.
