Regular Season Round 2: Chalons-Reims - Strasbourg 66-87

We should mention about the upset which took place in Reims, where Chalons-Reims (0-2) was outleveled at home by Strasbourg IG (1-1) 87-66 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Strasbourg IG. Chalons-Reims managed to win fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Strasbourg IG especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Strasbourg IG players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Serbian power forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) responded with 17 points and American forward Drew Gordon (205-90, college: N.Mexico) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Strasbourg IG will meet at home Olympique Antibes in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chalons-Reims will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque and hope to win that game.
