Regular Season Round 3: Conquero - Cadi La Seu 53-69

The most surprising game was a loss of Conquero (2-1) in Huelva on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Cadi La Seu (1-2) 69-53. The game was mostly controlled by Cadi La Seu. Conquero managed to win fourth quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cadi La Seu forced 20 Conquero turnovers. Strangely Conquero outrebounded Cadi La Seu 37-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international forward Tamara Abalde (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian point guard Aleksandra Stanacev (167-94, agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 12 points. Cadi La Seu's coach Joan Carles Pie used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American center Talia Caldwell (188-91, college: California) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and the former international power forward Maria Pina (187-87) scored 16 points. Cadi La Seu is looking forward to face Gernika (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Conquero will play against Campus Promete in Logrono and is hoping to win this game.
