Regular Season Round 1: 36ers - Breakers 90-71

Very predictable result when Adelaide 36ers (1-1) rolled over New Zealand Breakers (1-1) in Findon 90-71. The game was mostly controlled by Adelaide 36ers. New Zealand Breakers was better in third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Adelaide 36ers made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Adelaide 36ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Center Matthew Hodgson (211-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International guard Adam Gibson (188-86) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) produced 14 points and 6 assists and the other American import center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Adelaide 36ers and four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Adelaide 36ers' next round opponent will be United in Melbourne and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. New Zealand Breakers will play on the road against Perth Wildcats and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
