Regular Season Round 3: Gran Canaria - Mann Filter 55-62

Date: October 7, 2015
But Gran Canaria was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Zaragoza 62-55. Gran Canaria was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 32-23 second half run of Mann Filter. It was a good game for American center Britany Miller (192-87, college: Florida St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Bulgarian Jaklin Zlatanova (190-88) contributed with 6 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Mann Filter's coach Victor Lapena allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Czech forward Michaela Stejskalova (186-87) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Nevena Markovic (193-93, college: IUPUI) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gran Canaria. Mann Filter's next round opponent will be Gipuzkoa UPV (#9) in San Sebastian which should be theoretically an easy game. Gran Canaria will play on the road against Perfumerias Avenida in Salamanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
