Regular Season Round 1: SEQ - Bendigo 80-63

Date: October 9, 2015
Very predictable result in Crestmead where SEQ (1-0) defeated Bendigo Spirit (1-1) 80-63 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by SEQ. Bendigo Spirit managed to win third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Denesha Stallworth (190-92, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-American Ify Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. SEQ's coach Shane Heal used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Kelsey Griffin (188-87, college: Nebraska) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and international center Gabrielle Richards (191-84, college: Oregon) added 12 points and 15 rebounds respectively for lost side. SEQ will meet Dandenong Rangers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bendigo Spirit will play against Perth Lynx and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
