Regular Season Round 3: Caen - Berck 80-65

There was a minor upset when Berck (1-2) was defeated on the road by Caen (1-2) 80-65 on Friday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Caen's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-8 extending their advantage to 15 points. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Berck's players. It was a great evening for point guard Etienne Plateau (192-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Congolese swingman Camille Eleka (196-88) helped adding 19 points. Caen's coach Herve Coudray used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Simon Cretaux (190-89) scored 10 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Caen will face Angers BC on the road in the next round.
