Regular Season Round 2: Leganes - Barcelona 83-73

Leganes used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Barcelona 83-73 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Leganes. Barcelona was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Barcelona 42-23 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Marta Perez (177-94) who scored 18 points. Swingman Estela Rubio (172-86) chipped in 15 points. Four Leganes players scored in double figures. Guard Vanesa Verbo (174-94) produced 19 points and 4 assists and guard Laura Lopez (171-85) added 8 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leganes will face ASEFA Estudiantes in Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Barcelona will play at home against Alcobendas (#1) and hope to win that game.
