Regular Season Round 2: MKS DG 2 - Zaglebie 69-96

MKS DG 2 was not able to use a home court advantage and was outleveled by the opponent from Sosnowiec 96-69 on Saturday night. Zaglebie shot 33 for 45 from the free-throw line, while MKS DG 2 only scored thirteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded MKS DG 2 52-32 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zaglebie made 10 blocks. MKS DG 2 was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Power forward Filip Taisner (202-94) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Zaglebie players scored in double figures. point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) produced 24 points and Dawid Boryka (188-97) added 10 points respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zaglebie will face Pogon RS (#7) in Ruda Slaska in the next round. MKS DG 2 will play on the road against Cieszyn and hope to win that game.
