Regular Season Round 4: Kongsberg - Eidsvoll 103-43

Kongsberg has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Eidsvoll (0-3) 103-43 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kongsberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Eidsvoll to just 7 points in second quarter. Kongsberg dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Eidsvoll's 24 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Kongsberg forced 25 Eidsvoll turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Eidsvoll's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Aareon Smith (193-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Oivind Lundestad (194-91, college: Point Loma) who added 22 points during the contest. At the losing side Nigerian-American forward Joseph Nwabuzor (192-85) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Martynas Kubilius (195-89) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kongsberg (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Baerum Basket and Fyllingen BBK. It was Eidsvoll's third loss in a row. Eidsvoll at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with three games lost. Kongsberg is looking forward to face Nidaros Jets in Tromdheim in the next round. Eidsvoll will have a break next round.
