Regular Season Round 3: SAP Vaucluse - Quimper 95-97

Date: October 10, 2015
There was a surprise result in Sorgues where Quimper UJAP (1-2) edged SAP Vaucluse (2-1) 97-95 on Saturday. SAP Vaucluse was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Omar Strong (175-90, college: Texas Southern) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 assists. Lithuanian center Deividas Busma (212-87, college: Idaho St., agency: Two Points) helped adding 15 points and 11 rebounds. Quimper UJAP's coach Hugues Occansey used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Mali power forward Cheick Soumaoro (204-90) with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Adrien Thimon (188-94) scored 21 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP will face JSA Bordeaux at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SAP Vaucluse will play against Lourdes-Tarbes where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
