No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Wisla Krakow (4-0) crushed at home 8th ranked Sosnowiec (1-3) 87-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. Wisla Krakow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Sosnowiec's 34. Wisla Krakow forced 22 Sosnowiec turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international forward Justyna Cegielska (188-85) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Spanish point guard Cristina Ouvina (173-90) contributed with 20 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Five Wisla Krakow players scored in double figures. American guard Shannon McCallum (177-87, college: Charlotte) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import point guard Ketia Swanier (170-86, college: Connecticut) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Sosnowiec. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Wisla Krakow have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sleza Wroclaw. Sosnowiec lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Wisla Krakow will face Polkowice (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sosnowiec will play against MUKS Poznan and hope to win that game.
