Rueil used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from La Rochelle 85-73 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Rueil. La Rochelle was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded La Rochelle 42-25 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rueil looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian forward Dejan Sencanski (198-84, college: Abil.Christian) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Ivorian swingman Issife Soumahoro (197-88) helped adding 20 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was Slovakian power forward Justin Sedlak (206-87, college: Florida Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American forward William Walker (200-87, college: Bethel, IN, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Rochelle's coach Gregory Thielin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rueil will face Vendee Challans at home in the next round. La Rochelle will play against Berck and hope to win that game.
