Energa Torun's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Widzew (1-3) 80-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Energa Torun led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Energa Torun looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import point guard Matee Ajavon (170-86, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 18 points and 10 assists. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by swingman Julia Adamowicz (179-94) did not help to save the game for Widzew. Latvian center Aija Brumermane (192-86) added 7 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Widzew's coach Piotr Rozwadowski rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Energa Torun left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Widzew. It was Widzew's third loss in a row. Energa Torun will meet league's leader Sleza Wroclaw on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Widzew will play against AZS UMCS (#4) and hope to win that game.
