United defeated Illawarra Hawks in Melbourne 93-81. The game was mostly controlled by United. Illawarra Hawks managed to win third quarter 18-16. The former international center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and New Zealand swingman Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Illawarra Hawks. Five United and four Illawarra Hawks players scored in double figures. Illawarra Hawks will play next round against Illawarra Hawks trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Gwynneville - Illawarra Hawks. United will try to continue on its current victory against Adelaide 36ers in Findon.
