Regular Season Round 4: Akropol - Alvik Basket 56-73

Bottom-ranked Akropol (0-3) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their third consecutive match to sixth ranked Alvik Basket (2-2) 73-56. It looked good early as Akropol took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Alvik Basket had a 17-4 second period charge getting the lead and Akropol was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-73. Alvik Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding Akropol to just 4 points in second quarter. They also forced 21 Akropol turnovers. It was a very good performance for point guard Klara Lundquist (171-99) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Nathalie Schonberg (169-90) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Forward Hanna Isaksson (191-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian guard Jovana Ciric (173-83) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Akropol. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Alvik Basket moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Norrkoping and Sallen. Akropol at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Alvik Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Udominate in Umea and it may be the game of the week. Akropol will play on the road against Telge (#3) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
