Regular Season Round 2: Venezia - Di Lupari 81-52
Date: October 11, 2015
No shocking result in a game when Venezia (2-0) crushed at home Di Lupari (0-2) 81-52 on Sunday. The game without a history. Venezia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Di Lupari to just 3 points in second quarter. Venezia forced 24 Di Lupari turnovers. American point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) notched 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (189-86, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. Venezia's coach Andrea Liberalotto felt very confident using 10 players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Jori Davis (175-89, college: Indiana, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Di Lupari. Her fellow American import swingman Jasmine Bailey (172-90, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Venezia will meet Cagliari CUS on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Di Lupari will play against Orvieto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
