They also forced 24 New Zealand Breakers turnovers. New Zealand Breakers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. New Zealand swingman Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) scored 36 points (!!!) (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 23 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Fijian forward Tai Wesley (201-86, college: Utah St.) scored 14 points. Four New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Illawarra Hawks will face Perth Wildcats at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. New Zealand Breakers will play against Kings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
