Regular Season Round 7: San Lorenzo - Bahia Basket 87-63

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Almagra. Leader CASLA faced their biggest opponent Bahia Basket. Host CASLA (6-0) smashed guests from Bahia Blanca (5-3) 87-63. The game was mostly controlled by CASLA. Bahia Basket was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bahia Basket 38-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Lithuanian center Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four CASLA players scored in double figures. The former international Hernan Jasen (199-78) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Lucio Redivo (183-94) added 14 points respectively for Bahia Basket in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CASLA have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted CASLA maintains first place with 6-0 record. Bahia Basket at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. CASLA's next round opponent will be GECR Indalo (#4) in Comodoro R.. Bahia Basket will play on the road against Lanus in Buenos Aires and hope to win that game.
