The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Kouvot as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Kouvot smashed 4th ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit in Kouvola 113-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Loimaan Korikonkarit. The game without a history. Kouvot led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Loimaan Korikonkarit only scored six points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kouvot made 8 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Loimaan Korikonkarit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Kyle Shiloh (190-85, college: Nevada) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard D.J. Richardson (190-91, college: Illinois) chipped in 28 points. Five Kouvot players scored in double figures. Kouvot's coach Jyri Lehtonen felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Ronald Clark (195-81, college: Colorado St.) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Kouvot have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Loimaan Korikonkarit at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
