Regular Season Round 4: Chalons-Reims - Paris-Levallois 70-68

Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Chalons-Reims (2-2) edged at home bottom-ranked Paris-Levallois (0-4) 70-68 on Friday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Paris-Levallois won third quarter 27-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Chalons-Reims won last quarter 12-11. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Chalons-Reims had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Drew Gordon (205-90, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard Richard McConnell (183-89, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Priority Sports) who added 9 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Jason Rich (191-86) responded with 21 points and international power forward Landing Sane (207-90) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Chalons-Reims moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Paris-Levallois still closes the standings with four games lost. Chalons-Reims will face Olympique Antibes (#9) on the road in the next round. Paris-Levallois will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
