Regular Season Round 6: Fukuoka Rizing - Shiga L-Stars 61-77

Date: October 16, 2015
The most shocking disappointment of round 6 was a home defeat of Fukuoka Rizing (3-2) by third ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-1) who outscored them by 16 points 77-61. It ended the two-game winning streak of Fukuoka Rizing. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Fukuoka Rizing managed to win second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: Inception Sports) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) chipped in 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to second place, which they share with Takamatsu FA. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fukuoka Rizing will play again at home against the league's second-placed Shiga L-Stars (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
